*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*:A. Graduation from a state approved Nurse Practitioner program OR an approved Physician Assistant program, *and*B. Current RN and Nurse Practitioner license to practice in the state of New York OR current Physician Assistant license, *and*C. One year of experience in the practice setting preferred, *and*D. Current BLS Certification.*DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:* The Mid-Level Provider, either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, in collaboration with a clinic physician, provides appropriate comprehensive care to both well and ill patients. Functions as a practitioner, consultant, role model, researcher and educator, ensuring quality patient care and outcomes. Coordinates optimal resources within the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, managers, receptionist, clients/patients and families. Participates in continuous quality improvement and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy. All practices and patient/client care decisions will be consistent with established hospital policy and procedures, JCAHO and all state and federal laws.
